It is sooo nice the neighbors stop and comment on your handiwork-selfish reasons or not!tinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17415302577518111227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7113123529932691813.post-419226110703471822007-12-03T09:37:00.000-06:002007-12-03T09:37:00.000-06:00Yep the leaves are still falling! Those mighty oaks will be dropping their little finger sized leaves until January, thus driving me nuts!

The other problem we have is with the lack of rain, nothing is holding the leaves that I have carefully placed into the landscaping in place! So today as the wind blows, the leaves are trotting back Skeeterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08222522533934405029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7113123529932691813.post-49434940183162932822007-12-02T16:05:00.000-06:002007-12-02T16:05:00.000-06:00You are lucky to have all those pine needles close...You are lucky to have all those pine needles close by-even in your yard if I remember correctly! I have missed you Skeeter, but I know you have been busy with all those decorations and family visiting. We finally finished the outside-now if I could just motivate myself to do the inside...sigh, it is sometimes hard.

But 20 bales of pine straw! Of course we live in the land of Tall Georgia Pines! We have lots of pine trees in our yard and woods but those needles mostly stay where they land in the woods with leaves and other debris. Too dirty to use in our landscaping. So we go to the garden or landscaping center and buy pine straw by the bales. I get it truck load at a time. I remember getting some at Estes Beach and we had a good veggie garden. Too bad we don't have seaweed down here. I probably forgot a lot of mulches and only mentioned some common ones.

I have used lobster, clam and mussel shells in the compost and even sometimes in the garden if they tinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17415302577518111227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7113123529932691813.post-82994833534102106072007-12-01T16:17:00.000-06:002007-12-01T16:17:00.000-06:00If you are lucky eough to live near the ocean, the...If you are lucky eough to live near the ocean, the BEST mulch is seaweed. It is free for the taking but backbreaking work. I know. I have lugged tons of it home. But it works great. Keeps most weeds from popping thru and it has all kinds of good stuff for the plants. Things grow really big and lush with it. When Col.
