I too like the terra cotta pots that I used first but like you say the plants dry out too quickly. Pots are too porous. I had thought about sealing them on the outside. Mine is in afternoon sun--too hot. I too like where mine is but may have to move it to a shadier place. I've found that the coloring on the others do help hold water better.
