Last year I added a new Iris to my GEORGIA GARDENS. This is its first year to bloom and I am very happy with it.
"Before the Storm" Bearded Iris is a beautiful addition to my garden.
Is it Purple or is it Black? Depends on how the sun hits the bloom. It is healthy and the roots have multiplied greatly in the past year. After it is finished with blooming, I will do some dividing and placement throughout the garden. I love this BEARDED IRIS, In the Garden...

ReplyDeleteSnow? Yikes, we are going strong with blooms here in my garden. Hope Spring finds you soon!
DeleteJust beautiful Skeeter! Irises are my favorite spring flowers. Unfortunately I lost a lot of mine to borers. I hope this year will be a better one for them.
ReplyDeleteOh NO Randy! That is just awful. I love iris but wish they would hang around longer then they do. Beautiful flower that reminds me of my childhood as everyone in TN had them...
DeleteI'm looking forward to iris in my garden. Love the deep purple/black.
ReplyDeleteI had never seen a Purple/Black one until this one Sherlock! When I saw it in the garden center, I grabbed it up as I just knew I had to have it. I am glad too as it is a beauty. I hope it gives me plenty of offspring to enjoy in other places around the garden...
DeleteIt's gorgeous! Love that dark color.
ReplyDeleteIts a keeper Holley! Love it...
DeletePurple or black, I don't care, that is a handsome iris.

DeleteYes a real handsome bloom and one I hope to divide into many more in the years to come...
DeleteI love my black iris, but like you, it depends on the lighting. I got mine from a family member and it is very old, so I have no ID on the plant.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait until my iris bloom....I just adore them
ReplyDeleteLove it!!
