Here is a picture of the Wheel barrow with blooms. I had no idea what color the geranium would be as the tag only said Mix.
I did a pretty good job of placing them with the red being centered. Pure luck with unknown colors here in my Georgia Gardens. |
Super Moon |
I wonder how many photographs were snapped of that beautiful Super Moon this past Saturday? This was my photo, taken through the tall Georgia Pine Trees in our gardens. A bit overcast and hoping for rain which never occurred. Sigh, we need rain...
Darla, Lookie what I have! Pretty Forget Me Not blooms!
These do not have the yellow center I noticed with a Google image search. But they are oh, so pretty and a great addition to my gardens. Thanks to your wonderful gift of seeds from your Florida Garden to mine!
Some have become so tall they have fallen to the ground. I do not mind as Darla mentioned they will seed themselves. I have planted Ivy in this spot and the plan is for the plants to shoot up from the ivy as it fills in a bit. Thank you so much for this wonderful gift Darla!
On Sunday we took our first boat ride of the year at our lake. With us being in drought mode most of the time here in our neck of the woods, some of the parks have extended their boat ramps. We found one to launch our boat in the ever lowering lake. This ramp is near our favorite bird watching spot. This tower is home to many baby birds. Lets move in closer shall we...
About a third of the way up the tower is a great spot for a bird nest.
Osprey, nest in this spot each year and we enjoy watching them from babies to adults. This little baby was looking to the sky for a parent bird.
I am not sure whom owns this tower but I am guess Georgia Power company. They or someone was kind enough to put a round tray in place for the birds. Now they don't have to drag so many twigs to the tower for a nest. While observing, this parent bird landed on the nest to check in on the baby's.
We were lucky enough to see a parent bird bring in a treat of fish for the baby's. It is always neat to witness such things in the wild. We had a beautiful day at the lake and hope to get out as much as possible this year. It is a great way to stay cool during hot summer days. Which spring has been feeling like (Summer) this year! Have I mentioned we need rain? Ha, calling for chances of rain the next few days. I am so hoping for relief for the gardens. The grass is so crunchy now and way too early for this type heat. We are now officially in Drought 3 stage so it is getting bad for the gardens. Rain Gods, we need rain please! There you have it, FLOWERS, MOON AND BIRDS, In the Garden...
