Loving this time

BY SKEETER
Little clusters of Grapes in the form of Hyacinths are blooming in my GEORGIA GARDENS! I planted a lot of these little bulbs a few years ago and this is the only cluster I found this year. Bulbs just do not do well in my neck of the woods...
The tiny blooms are so vibrant in color and easy to see where they get their name.
Hyacinth in the larger form are also blooming. Yes, Spring is here in south-east Georgia!
I am so glad the nasty cold weather is gone but not counting the eggs in my Easter Basket just yet. There's always another cold snap before or during the first week of April.
I have been getting a nice workout in the garden the past few days. I am pulling weeds and getting the flower beds ready. I have spread 25 bales of Pine Straw/Needles and have 25 bags of mulch ready to be spread as well. We Sprang Forward over the weekend and now my days are longer! LOVING THIS TIME, In the Garden...

  2. Perfect pictures for springtime! I can't wait until we hit it too! That bike is so awesome. Send me some of your energy to spread mulch and work the garden. Gosh I can't even get stuff organized here let alone get outside as I've been sick with a cold but hopefully it will be gone soon.

  3. I sure wish they would leave the time alone. It takes me forever to get reacclimated to the new time. Your garden is getting exciting. Mine is just now getting rid of the snow. It should be all gone by this time tomorrow. Yipee... Now it is mud season. I tried to pull a weed yesterday but the ground is still frozen. bah humbug... Happy Spring to you. It seems that we are usually a couple of weeks behind your area.

  5. I've never planted hyacinths but I love the smell. I would force them in the house but the cats would probably get into them and they are poison. Anyway, your bulbs are lovely.

  6. What a treat to see your spring bloomers already, Skeeter! It's warming up here, too, so I have hopes I might spy the first crocuses in another week or so. 25 bags of pine straw?? Girl, you have been busy!
