I have started to add Dianthus to my GEORGIA GARDENS.
They really seem to like my soil conditions and I like their pretty spring blooms.
Their blooms are small but pack a big punch such as with this Raspberry Swirl.
This one was a bargain find last fall.
Passion is the name of this red beauty.
Tickled Pink was my first Dianthus.
I must say I am Tickled Pink with DIANTHUS, In the Garden...
Note: I have been lacking in Garden Blogging lately. I have found blogging to be more of a diary for me now than anything else. Therefore, I may not have a Post in place every Tuesday and Thursday as in the past. I shall just pop "In and Out" with my postings. Nothing is wrong, I am just changing directions in my life...
Words and Photos Property of In the Garden Blog Team,
In the Garden
Dianthus can be so pretty. I am enjoying yours-especially that 'Passion'. I only have one or two in my garden but they do give a big bang for the buck. Not sure why they are always marked down at the end of the year either. Yes, that is my thing with blogging too! I'm having fun not stressing about the computer though. So much going on this beautiful spring! We actually had rain in JUNE!! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteYep, time to back away from the computer. I spend way too much time on here and less doing other stuff that I miss in life.
DeleteWe had rain yesterday! 1/2 inch and more in the forecast with pop-up showers and yes, that humidity tells me it IS SUMMER indeed. I am missing Spring and the cool temps and no humidity. Sigh, such is life in the South...
Beautiful flowers, miraculous colours, I like to admire such pictures:) I am greeting
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words and for stopping by to visit with us...
DeleteI too seem to spend too much time on the computer. Just wish I could get out & do like I want or use to. I love the Dianthus. Love your pics. Sure wish I could get them growing here. I really like the Raspberry Swirl.
ReplyDeleteThe Raspberry Swirl is my favorite as well Lola. Love it...
DeleteI love dianthus. I gave all of mine a haircut yesterday so they will come back and look pretty again.
ReplyDeleteI have never clipped them. I shall give that a go and see what happens with their next blooming....
DeleteI like Dianthus, too; my favorites are the variegated ones, like your Raspberry Swirl.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about blogging; I still enjoy visiting everyone, but with so much to do outside right now, I feel a little guilty spending time on the computer!
I get this posting up about blogging less and find myself blogging still with all the rain going on outside. LOL
DeleteHi Skeeter. In my part of the world the dianthus that used to be sold as annuals are now perennial. They're good for pops of color, especially in the shade when not much is blooming. Have you seen Tiny Rubies dianthus? Tiny little flowers, but part of the reason I like it because my grandmother's name was Ruby. Take care and enjoy your semi-hiatus from blogging!
ReplyDeleteDJ, I searched the internet for images of Tiny Rubies and wow, they are beautiful. I will see if I can find some to add to my collection....
DeleteI have had these over the years. They don't seem to last for me. Maybe my zone is a little colder and the really cold months kill them. I love their tidy growing habit and the different colors available.
ReplyDeleteYour dianthus are looking good. I planted some in containers. Hoping for a good show.
ReplyDeleteThe dianthus has been exceptional in my garden this year...but your colors are amazing.
