I thought you all might like to know about the Great Backyard Bee Count. It is scheduled for July 16th and if you click on the above link you can get all the information about the bee count. I have placed a BEE-O-METER on my sidebar. If you click on it you should be able to see the bee count for your zip code after July 16. There is a link if you are willing to participate in the bee count too.
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

ReplyDeleteThanks for this info, Tina! I have no idea how one goes about counting bees, but I'll check this out later. The kids are coming over this evening for a cookout...I'd better get busy. Have a great Fourth!
ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteJust did a bee count in my hive a little while ago. 20-30 thousand I would guess. We added another brood box!
Interesting. Have a Good week doing things that you like in the garden.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the link, hope you & your family had a wonderful fourth of July weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteThere are so many bees here I'm not sure how it's possible to count them! Hope you had a happy 4th.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering how you count them too? I never knew there was a count for them either. The Internet is so great for learning!
ReplyDeleteI received an email about this. I am unorganized, and not sure if you are supposed to go out at a certain time or what. I have been seeing bees when I go out for other things, though. I'll have to look into it.
