What could be better in the spring than traveling along a gravel road in the country and running into a field full of daffodils?
The cows are right around the corner.
The birds are singing in the old oak trees and life is great.
Perhaps your very own daffodils blooming in your garden could be better? The 'Tete-e-tetes' finally showed up in Tiger Gardens. They are a very welcomed sight.
But really the only thing better than a field of daffodils at this time of the year is a blood red camellia growing and blooming....
in the garden....
BEAUTIFUL! I would love to be able to be driving down a country road and see a field of daffies. But alas, I'll be content viewing them right here from my chair via the computer.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing and that camellia is beautiful too!
Happy Spring ~ FlowerLady
Glad you enjoyed them Flowerlady Lorraine. I think daffodils grow down there in sunny Florida or not so much?
DeleteWow, that camillia is gorgeous. I love the way they look like roses. I can't wait to see a bunch of daffodils blooming here. It won't be long.
ReplyDeleteI only wish they smelled as good as roses then that would be something!
DeleteIn late Feb. and early March, my husband and I go riding to look for daffodils. It is amazing all the ones you can find at old home places. It is almost sad to think that some woman long ago planted these to have flowers for herself and now here they are long after she has passed away.
ReplyDeleteSallysmom, I'll be that lady one day and I keep telling my husband it is my legacy! The land and its growing things are a wonderful thing to leave behind. I always think of the gardener who planted daffodils (and daylilies) long ago abandoned and wonder if she or he is like me. I even wish to know their stories. It helps to connect us all I think.
DeleteI notice fields of daffodil along country roads often in the spring. I hope to see many this weekend as we shall be driving along some of those country roads of Georgia... My daffys are pretty right now but oh so soggy.... sigh...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tina, for finding the daffs for me. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBoth of mine are blooming. Altho my camillia is almost finished. This hard rain we had sure messed my daffies up. sure wish I could drive around to see some daffies.
ReplyDeleteI love to see daffodils growing in natural settings like this, a pleasant surprise where you don't expect them. I'm still waiting for daffs here.
ReplyDeleteYour field has gotten a good start!!
