A Spring Walk

BY SKEETER
Wildflowers seen while out in the woods geocaching south of Atlanta, GA.
These calm waters can be found in Panola State Park. Click HERE for more about that park.
We really do enjoy walking in the woods of state parks.
There is always something to spot around each bend along the trail.
Such as these sunning turtles. Conga Line forming here...
I love to see little wooden churches found on country back roads.
Now getting back into my GEORGIA GARDENS, I see spring everywhere I look, to include weeds! Ugh...
The Saints Crabapple tree has never been so full of blooms!
For once, the squirrels left the buds alone and we are reaping the rewards with bright  pink beauty! This crabapple is finally becoming a nice large tree after 9 years with us.
During our weekend of Geocaching, we enjoyed a 7 mile SPRING WALK, In the Garden...

  1. Seven mile spring walk!! You go girl! That is one heck of a walk. I enjoy your walks so much. Those turtles are too cute! That's a beautiful crabapple. I also like your spiraea. Looks like spring in your garden!

    1. We bought one of those devices you put on your body to calculate your walking distance. In those two days, we visited 4 parks and walked 7 miles! We are so hooked on Geocaching and a great way to get us off our butts and into nature! The Saint will not allow me to prune his crabapple and I believe it needs it. I just hope he is right and I am wrong on this one. I love that tree and want the deer to enjoy the apples some day....

  2. I'm sorry that we won't be making a trip south this spring. Second-best is seeing it through your camera's lens :)
What beauty! (Did you know I broke a hip? It will be a few months before I'm up to a 7 mile walk!)

    1. No, I did not know about your hip! I have been so busy lately that I have not been visiting blogs, just posting. Sorry to hear that. I hope you are getting along better now and in no pain! Hip injuries can be so painful. Just don't overdo it in the garden this spring....

    1. These Spiraea's are the first bush to bloom in spring and they hold their blooms longer then any other Spring Bloomer in the back yard. I love the things and wish I had a yard full of them! They are still holding onto some blooms now with green coming out... Love them...

    1. Our lakes, streams and rivers are full of turtles! We get a few Box Turtles in the gardens on occasion too. Turtles are amazing creatures...

  5. The crabapple is lovely! I know when mine bloom that it's finally spring. We're behind you, of course, but at least I'm seeing tulips and daffodils coming up, and the crocuses are finally blooming. It shouldn't be long now. Love that turtle conga line:)

  6. What beauties. I went on a short walk today. Loved seeing the wildlings starting to bloom. Nothing like what you are having yet. If it ever warms up here we too will have blooms.
