Thank you for sharing many lovely ideas. I am thinking of growing rudbeckia and when I see yours can't wait to get them.
ReplyDeleteI've never seend a Japanese Roof Iris before. I had to Google it. Gotta get some! :0)
ReplyDeleteIsn't Rudbeckia wonderful? I grow Rudbeckia fulgida ‘Goldsturm’ . It is still blooming in my zone 3 garden, even though most of my other plants have gone dormant.
ReplyDeleteI love aster with goldenrod, rudbeckia or helianthus. Of course Japanese anemone with grasses in bloom is also lovely.
ReplyDeleteMost interesting. It inspires me to try and think of fall as something more than a gardening disaster time (other than my mums). The sedum here has to go as being mostly shady they tend to flop all over in the fall....
ReplyDeleteGood combos there girl! My garden is starting to really slow down now, sigh, but ready for those cooler temps again...
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteAs for fall bloom-- my mums are blooming below my tree-form Encore Azaleas. Moonvine is blooming with arborvitae as the companion. Coneflowers and phlox are blooming. Salvia 'Black & Blue' is looking good with foliage of eucomis.
Of all your combinations the yellow roses and the Black and Blue Salvia is my favorite. My Artemisia is failing....not sure why (other than the dry dry dry conditions)
ReplyDeleteLots of pretty combos, Tina. I agree with Janet--the yellow roses and 'Black and Blue' are my favorite. But I think 'Black and Blue' looks good with everything. I have one in front of my new caryopteris, and I like that combo, too. I'm surprised by how much is still blooming in my garden, but I'd have to say right now it's the asters and goldenrod that are my favorite.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks good.
