Bloggers meet and a new addition

I have been away from my Georgia garden and on the road a lot lately. The Saint and I took a quick trip to Tennessee for a family dinner to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Then we took off to Gulf Shores to continue with the family celebration. Then one day back in GA and I took off on my own to surprise Lola with a visit to lunch that Tina had arranged to have with Nina and Anonymous while Lola was in TN for a visit with her family. The day was full of surprises as not only my surprise for Lola but a surprise for us all as well. Our very own Anonymous was not able to attend the luncheon but she had a great reason for not attending. She brought a new baby into the world! I can hardly wait to see the name she will give this cute Little fella for the Blog world. In this picture our very own Master Gardener, Tina is holding the bundle of joy.
Then they put the thing in my arms. I say thing as I was scared to death as I am not so great with babies. I can run circles around a toddler but a baby, they just plain scare me to death! But once this tiny man was in my arms, I was okay with the bundle. Aint he so cute? Awwwwwww... Again, congrats to Anonymous, hubby, Boy 1, Boy 2, Girl Model and Sidekick for the new addition and being able to keep a secret too :-)...

So here is the gang with full tummy's of yummy sandwiches at the "Front Page Deli" in downtown Clarksville. I spent many days as a child in downtown when it was bustling from activity in the good old days. On this day, it was once again bustling with some great food, conversations and many laughs and surprises by a few blogging friends!
A special thank you to Stephanie for bringing her grandmother to Clarksville to meet us bloggers. Strange thing is, even though that was the first time I ever met Lola, it seemed as though we had known each other for years! The only problem with blogger visits is, they go by so darn quickly! Seems we are just getting started with our chit chat then it is time to depart again. Thank goodness for the blog and all the wonderful new friendships it has brought into my life.

It is such a wonderful thing to have BLOGGERS MEET AND A NEW ADDITION, In the Garden...

  1. Good morning, I was happy to see you gals --I wish I could've met you in person Lola. But, Skeeter did and excellent job with getting a picture. And, it was so nice having Tina and Skeeter visit me and my new bundle of happiness. Hubby tilled the garden spot yesterday --so I guess this means we'll have a garden afterall:) Today after church the kiddos are supposed to run the Queen City Road Race --just hoping the nasty t-storms stay at bay. If not, I told hubby they can't run --my Sidekick will be attempting his first big race, Girl Model is upset I didn't get her shoes to match the yellow t-shirt -hahaha silly girl and the older two have been down this path before. It sure was nice to see you all this morning --albeit in a phot --have a fabulous Sunday!

  2. Good Morning Everyone.
That sure is a fine bundle of joy Anonymous. Sure wish I could have met him. You too.
Yes, Skeeter sure was a surprise & what a lovely one at that. Our own Master Gardener is not only a gem but she can pull surprises.
I hope the storms stay at bay so the kiddos can win the race.
You will have a great productive garden and all the kiddos will have much fun learning.

  3. So much good news in one post! Congratulations anonymous on the new baby...you had a great excuse for not showing up! How wonderful that you had lunch with your good pal Tina, but having Lola surprise you, that is fantastic! I wish the Tennessee BLoggers didn't live so far from one another! It would have been a joy to meet up with you all for dessert! Gail

  4. Good Morning everyone! A cloudy day with rain expected this afternoon so a lot to be accomplished before our week long house-guests arrive...

Anonymous, I am so glad that You, Hubby and Tina insisted i hold that beautiful baby. I believe the last baby I held was one of my nephews and that was many, many years ago as they are all in their late 20's now! lol... It was great to see you with such a glow just after Baby's arrival! You and Hubby sure do have a beautiful family there! Good luck on the run and I will cross my fingers for the rains to hold off a bit for the run to complete. And girl model and the shoes is too funny and I can relate as I am a match it kind of gal myself...

Lola, Ah, what fun we had at lunch. I wish it did not have to end when it did as I think the party was just getting started. I dont know if you made it to Tina's Gardens or not but hope you were able to fit in a stroll while in town. Oh, the "Santa" is now in place. Tee hee...

Gail, Next time we TN gals get together, you must come join in on the fun! But be prepared as lunch seems to go by so quickly! :-) You know the saying, time flies when you are having fun. Hey, you need to set up a group meet in the Nashville area sometime. Now that I know I am a big girl and can climb that big old Mountain alone, I am up for another road trip! lol...

Everyone have a great day! I am off to clean the front porch...

  7. Awwwww! You did such a good job on this post Skeeter! It was so much fun-the visit with Lola and the shock of Anonymous (who weighs about 100 pounds soaking wet having a baby and no one knowing-girl how DO you do that?!!) That little bundle of joy is such a sweetie and congrats again! Now next time we plan a meeting like this-I'm up for anything:) Lola, it was a pleasure meeting you and I love my tree face right in front of my home! Skeeter, of course you are a big girl and can come over the mountains all by yourself. Kudos to the Saint for taking care of himself for a bit. Nina-wonderful seeing you again! I have my seeds planted and am looking forward to them all coming up. I like that the wildflower seeds are from your father's 100th birthday! Well, everyone have a great day. Inside today as life giving rain is bringing May flowers. Plus, college work is calling....

  8. Forgot to say. I asked Lola, who I met on this blog, if she felt like she knew me-and she said for years and years. This blogging is a neat thing and a side part I don't think folks realize when they begin blogging. At least I didn't. It is how you can get to know someone. I feel the same way about many many of you on this blog.

  15. TC, You bet the visits go by so fast with other bloggers! We had a great time visiting with you and Cindy and her family in Pennsylvania! I have heard from her and she is doing well-had a good Easter. I hope you did too.

Flowrgirl1, Taking a chance to meet fellow bloggers is like meeting old friends. Very neat.

Dawn, We had a good time. Just need you and Mom to come on down..!

Mom, Anonymous is looking like she could go run a marathon-already! The kids are running today like she said, but it is rainy. Not so fun I am thinking. You really must come visit us early next spring. You had so much fun the last time you came.

Marmee, She was seriously not going to hold the baby and of course you can't do that to a newborn. I mean how long are they that small. He is sweet. Yes, rainy here and that is good! Lots of May flowers.

  19. Ilove the idea of a blogger party! You can be sure you won't have any awkward silences. And newborns - I love the way they look as if they have just landed in the world from outer space. Makes me want to treat them very gently.

I need to get now, I have the Saint up in the attic moving a cable around and he is not happy with me right now. I had better get off here or he will think I am goofing off while putting him to work. tee hee...

  23. What beautiful surprises. Congrats to all of you. It is certainly special getting to meet in person the people you talk to online. Skeeter, next time you visit Gulf Shores, please let me know. We're not very far away, and I'd love to meet you too. Tina's got that special gift for bringing people together. Our meeting in New Harmony was wonderful, but like you said, way too short.

  25. Hi Skeeter and all, this is really a feel good story. When I first started readin In The Garden, I thought you were all related or very close long time in real life friends by the way you spoke to and about each other. It is great that you can get together and surprise each other, and a new life in the world is always a call for celebration. Congrats to all.

  26. Hi everyone, so excited all of my kiddos finished the race - got a bit wet but had a great time. Thank you for all the great wishes on our newest little bundle of joy. All these garden gals are the best --I truly wished I could've met Lola in person. I had so much fun when I met up with the girls back in November. The time goes by too fast and you just feel like you've known each other forever --it's wonderful!! Jean I have to meet you --I hope you come down this way soon. Everyone posts so many helpful and very useful ideas on here --it helps me tremendously. Today a robin built a nest in one of my planters on the deck --we can watch her from the window --the kids are all excited --it should be interesting when she has her eggs in there --just have to watch my Sidekick --he can reach the planter. Maybe if I get lucky enough I can snap a few pictures. Have a great week everyone!

  31. Brenda, It is wonderful meeting other bloggers-I've met 9 so far (not including my commenters and now co-posters)and it is like we are old friends. No pauses or anything!

W2W, I think it is only smart to meet one another-especially if you live close by to folks you talk to each day and love meeting others with like interests as me. It was my pleasure meeting you and SAM. New Harmony was such a fun spot! I recently saw a commercial on TV to visit it and enjoyed that very much. But do you know they did not mention the maze??

Joy, He's a bundle of joy for sure.

Anonymous, I know it was wet! Congrats to the family!

    Cameron, Thanks!

Sue, Yes, lunch was awesome and the baby a big big surprise to us all!

    James, We had fun!

JGH, It is a bit shocking at times isn't it? I like that you have your pic on your avatar-no shock there. You look like a fun loving lady.

  32. Well you were down around my neck of the woods. I am in Mobile. I hope you enjoyed your visit to Gulf Shores...it was probably a bit packed since it was spring break

    ReplyDelete
  33. Walk2write, I did not realize it was so close to where you live! Would have been nice to meet you in person. Next time I get that way, I will have you put in for some nicer weather as it rained and was windy as all get out while there! We still had a great time with my family though...

Dirt Princes, we did go to Mobile as my brothers High School Softball team played there! We wanted to tour the gardens but the weather was crummy while there. Not too many Spring Breakers in the city and it was nice for us even though icky weather....
