Geranium tuberosum Supposedly a spring bloomer that will reseed then die back in the summer. A desirable trait here since we have such serious droughts in our summers. I am looking forward to these spreading themselves around.

The woodland phlox is most happy.
One of the three 'Florida Flame' azaleas is blooming. The other two had a hard time with the drought last summer apparently.
A trillium and wild hyacinth are blooming together.
The lavender irises have made an appearance. These are probably my favorite color of irises in my garden.
A pink columbine blooms near the yellow (Corbett) columbine.
Weigela blooms on the fenceline.
And finally some Dutch irises bloom....

Your gardens are just beautiful Tina...such an assortment of plants, I love that!
ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteWow can it get any better? The garden is filled out and stunning!
I love the natural feel of your gardens. Your plants are just gorgeous. I can only hope mine do half as well this year. :)
ReplyDeleteGood morning all! Thank goodness for rainy days-a day to stay inside and work on some projects. You know this is hard because the garden is calling. I'm making a new bed and patio. A big big project-but not today-yeah!
ReplyDeleteDarla, Definitely an assortment of plants. Now I need to look for a spot for that silver sage you have:)
Randy, Thanks! No, I don't think it gets any better. Though the peonies....
Nancy, You got it exactly! It's a very natural cottagey garden here. I have mostly shade but fit in a few sun lovers. I love them all!
As others have already said, it's wonderful to see these photos. Makes me wanna pack and move south just to see those blooms outside my window. (We're not anywhere near close to that up here.)
ReplyDeleteYour garden is really coming alive. So many great flowers. I need to check to see if my Solomon's Seal is coming up yet. It doesn't get in a hurry here.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning! 1/2 inch of rain thus far and I am so happy for Mother Natures drink!
ReplyDeleteYour gardens are just beautiful with so much going on. Color with every turn in your gardens! The VA Bluebells remind me of the time I went to Bull Run, VA to see them in their awesome glory!
Hi Tina, There are lots of really pretty pictures in this post. I especially like the shot of the weigela with the field in the background.
ReplyDeleteThe yellow azalea really caught my eye maybe because I could never have an azalea here in our cold climate. The yellow columbine is also really pretty as are the iris.
Have a great Easter!
Hi Tina, you have some gorgeous blooms in the garden this week. Everything is looking really lush & healthy this season. I thought the Irises in the last photo were Dutch Irises though...I have some identical to them. Maybe I'm wrong? :)
ReplyDeletethe camassia and hyssop is a great combination. Love seeing what is soon to come here.
ReplyDeleteWendy, We'll all wish we lived up north come June and July so enjoy the coolness for now. A splendid thing really.
ReplyDeleteGOSS, Thanks!
Skeeter, Yeah for rain! It's been a splendid spring for it. I just hope the summer carries it too.
Jennifer, Bummer on no azaleas. I sure love them here in the south. Glad you like my neighbor's field. We love it too!
Racquel, Thank you for identifying the irises! I always get those early irises confused. I must've planted these last fall and they are going crazy this year. I hope they come back. I must remember that and will go change it now.
Carolyn, A happy accident that looks stunning together for sure.
Wow I wish I had all that!!! And it is just a teaser of what is to come in your wonderful gardens!!
ReplyDeleteMom, You are too sweet. I am SO going to miss the garden this summer while we travel. All those delish berries and veggies and flowers. Sigh. Getting ready for it.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is very much alive and dancing. I love those columbines.
ReplyDeleteThink you're weeks ahead of me.
ReplyDeleteLoving the Hyssop,Ajuga,Virginia blue bells,Phlox and Jacob's ladder.
The 'Florida Flame' is a knock out!
Tina this is so beautiful..love all the natives and bulbs...what my gardens will look like in May...
ReplyDeleteAfternoon Everyone.
ReplyDeleteTina, what can I say. Your garden is ever so lovely. I love the natural aspect as it's so easy on the eye. But with surprises everywhere. Pics are great but I think it would be awesome in person.
Love the Flame Azalea, Bluebells & Solomon Seal.
I have a plant here that looks like Ajuga & it has a stalk with blue flowers. Is there a wild version?
Have a wonderful HAPPY EASTER.
Really, really pretty Tina! So many beautiful blooms in your garden. Looks like spring has definitely sprung there. (it's a bit tardy here! :)
ReplyDeleteLola, Thanks! Glad you like. I wished you could've come by when you were up here but sometimes it doesn't work out. On the ajuga, it does grow wild and self seed so I bet you do have some occurring naturally at your place.
ReplyDeleteWhooowoooo spring has arrived in Tina's garden!!! Just beautiful. Your azalea is beautiful. Love the flame azaleas.
ReplyDeleteLovely pics :) I wish I had a garden like that!
ReplyDeleteTina, your garden is just bursting with spring color--so many lovely blooms! Wishing you and yours a very happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteTina, It is so lovely to visit your blog and see all your fabulous spring flowers. I can't wait to do the same.
ReplyDeleteYou have so much blooming in your gardens! It looks beautiful. I love your pink columbine.
ReplyDeletebeautiful flower photos
ReplyDeleteYou have so many lovelies that I can't pick my favorite, although I go weak for that 'Florida Azalea' as it is so vibrant.
