  5. I have the vinyl album with this song on it! I kept my old AM/FM 8-Track, Stereo combo from the 70’s so I could occasionally play old albums. Unfortunately, silly me trashed the box of 45’s for room in the small apartment when I left home, sigh…

The last time I drove to TN alone, I listen to the Elvis Station on XM-radio most of the way. I was shocked to discover all the different songs he sang over the years...

Elvis will always live through his music...

  6. Hmmn This song makes me think of movies that were produced in the 80's about the 50's. The first rockstars I remember were the Monkees and the Beatles. I was 7.

  7. OMG, after wtching and listening I tried to think of what to say but words just could not express how I was feeling. Then I read other comments and Catmint did a pretty good job. Then add all the others and there you have it. His voice was something else. Too bad it ended the way it did.

In the 50's when he got his start and I was a teen we called him a hunk, now they would say he was hot. In my book h is #1, no matter ho you say it.

Skeeter I also got rid of all my 55's and all my albums. My then husband got rid of my stero so I could not listen to them so I gave them all to my landlords granddaughter who then was a teenager. Being a spoiled teen when he came out, I had EVERY ONE HE MADE. It makes me sick today to think of that. My stomach was churning looking and listening to the king and now thinking about my stash of records it is churnning for that reason. Oh well, sigh, sigh, sigh.

  8. Good afternoon all.
Tina, what can I say. Combining all the other comments all has been said. He was the best.
That reminds me about the post I did about a rose I had in bloom. About "The Dew Is Still Upon The Rose". That particular post & song has stuck in my head all this time. That same rose bush has been blooming it's lovely "head" off.

  9. I am so negligent on getting on here this morning-sorry! Busy morning in the garden when I must be inside doing work on the computer. Tomorrow is the last day for a few days though so yeah! Anyhow, thanks all for the Elvis comments. It seems we all have our memories of him. One day I Googled In the Garden and found this link. Such a lovely song for such an icon and definitely appropriate to this blog. Talk to you all later! Got to get to work now.

'Andy walks with me, Andy talks with me.'
