BY SKEETER
I have received a wonderful goodie basket here in my GEORGIA GARDENS from Del of Explore Asheville.
This gift came about from the "Meet and Greet" event at The Garden Bloggers Spring Fling in Asheville, NC. Tina, The Saint and I were the first to arrive at the Meet and Greet event. We met Del and chatted with him about a wonderful contest he was having for this event. For every time you Link his site; Explore Asheville, with a blog about the Fling, he would enter your name into the hat for a chance to win this gift. I wrote a post of each of the fabulous gardens we toured while at the Fling and I Won the Contest! I am thrilled because I rarely win anything.
I knew of the prize of a 2 nights stay at the North Lodge Bed & Breakfast. Click HERE to see more. And also 2 tickets to Biltmore House/Gardens/Winery. Click HERE to see more. But had no idea of the other goodies to come.
A wonderful cook book from the Tupelo Honey Cafe. As I flip through this unique book, I see wonderful recipes as well as beautiful photos from old Asheville to the present time! I must attend a meal or two at this cafe! Click HERE to see more.
Flingers are familiar with Sow True seeds. Click HERE to see more. I hope to have lots of South East Wild Flowers blooming in my gardens!
Not sure where this cute little Bird came from a piece of Asheville Art for my Gardens.
Gaelic ale Mustard from the Crooked Condiments collection. Click HERE to see more.
Flingers also know about 12 Bones Smokehouse. We enjoyed a most awesome lunch from these guys during the Fling. Blueberry Chipotle BBQ sauce. YUM! Click HERE to see more.
The scent of this Lavender Rose Soap is soothing! This will surely take me away to a happy place after a hard day of working in the garden. Click HERE to see more.
Unfortunately, the jar of Blackberry Jam was broken upon arrival. It smell wonderful and I was tempted to taste it but fear getting glass into my mouth. Sigh, Del has promised me another jar upon my visit to Asheville. Click HERE to see more.
This is a wonderful sampling of some of the Locally Owned business of Asheville, NC. We cannot wait until our next visit which I think shall be next spring because I LOVE ASHEVILLE, In the Garden...Words and Photos Property of In the Garden Blog Team, In the Garden
Looks like quite a haul, Skeeter--congratulations! Roommates Lisa, Beckie, and I did eat at the Tupelo Cafe the last night in Asheville; I'd highly recommend it--delicious! The best part was the honey--I've never had honey as delicious as this. I was too big a cheapskate to buy a jar to take home, though:) I've regretted that ever since, so I'd advise you to splurge on some, especially now that you have their cookbook. Enjoy your trip!
ReplyDeleteThat is quite an awesome haul! You did such a good job posting about our visit I'm very glad you won. Enjoy all those goodies! Beautiful pictures of it all!
ReplyDeleteLucky you! You enjoy all those fantastic goodies. I love Asheville too and will most likely retire there.
ReplyDeleteRose, I am captivated by all the recipes containing Goat Cheese! The Saint and I discovered Goat Cheese during our years in Germany. We love the stuff and order it in something when spotted on the menu. Fried Green Maters and Goat Cheese! Yeah baby… LOL We cannot wait to indulge in some Goat Cheese masterpieces. Now you have me wanting that honey as well!
ReplyDeleteTina, Ah, the Fling in Asheville would not have been as much fun without you girl. I am so glad we had that time together. And Hopefully we shall be strolling Tiger Gardens again soon….
Randy, I can see why you will retire there some day. It is a wonderful place full of energy, arts and wonderful people! The Saint has applied for employment in Asheville in the past. But no such luck for us to relocate there, well, for now. But come spring, we shall be back for another visit….
Congratulations, these kind of surprises are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWow--what a great prize! Well deserved! Hope you have an excellent return visit to AsSheville!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Roxanne...that looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteCongratualations Roxanne, I enjoyed your commentary, about all that you won. You really did deserve to be the winner! Your writing about the tour made me relive each place that I visited and helped me to wander through on the two that I missed.
ReplyDeleteWow girl you did alright LOL! What a great gift. Enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteI never win anything but now I feel happy that I know someone who won. You certainly deserved it after all your wonderful fling posts. Now you can go back in style.
ReplyDeleteSkeeter, you're the best. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteLots of nice goodies in there. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteGreat haul! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI never win either but wow that is quite the gift basket...I don't think I have seen a more complete basket of goodies from an area...I am so sad I had to miss this event. Congrats and I loved your posts about the fling.
ReplyDeleteHow super exciting!!
ReplyDeleteThanks to each of you! I am still filled with joy of the fun at the Fling. This little gift was the icing on top of the cake for sure! It has insured I shall get back to Asheville. I shall be looking up some of those wonderful places to enjoy. Since I will not be on a time frame from the Order Barking (LOL)Christopher, I shall have time to soak in much more of Asheville...
ReplyDeleteOK. This post settles it! I've gotta make it to Asheville the next time we visit my brother and SIL.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you won this contest! What a great basket of goodies in addition to going to the Biltmore again! Wow. A few of us ate at the Tupelo Honey Cafe --- great spot to eat. Enjoy!!!
ReplyDeleteWOWSER!!! I never win anything either except about 20 years ago I won a turkey and I was so excited and happy over that, I can only dream about how it would make me feel to win such an awesome gift pack as what you won. Congrats and I know you will make the very best of it all!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great win Skeeter. The prize could not have gone to anyone nicer. Congrats.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky girl you are! You should probably buy extra lottery tickets while the winning streak is still strong. Congrats to you. Everything looks wonderful. Did you have a special charm with you to get the good luck flowing your direction?
ReplyDeleteRebecca, yes, get to Asheville!
ReplyDeleteJanet, Rose had a meal there also. I cant wait to try it out. Yum…
Jean, OMGoodness, I would be happy with a turkey too! The Saint could fry it up in the backyard and we could have sandwiches with it for days….
GardenWGT, Oh, you are so kind to say that….
W2W, Ha, I probably used up all my luck on this contest. I never win anything but keep playing that lottery just the same. Cant win if I don’t play, LOL…
