  1. Why did you say they are sleeping there? Is it because they are already there so early, earlier than you? hahaha. Maybe sunflower is the most photographed flower in the world, be that as it may, but it is always attractive to humans too!

  3. I always think when I see them, what a wonderful way to start the day. Waking up in the middle of a flower.

  5. Love the bees on the sunflowers. I saw bees on the tiny flowers of weeds that I was cleaning up in my asparagus bed for the winter.

  6. How lucky whenever I try to photograph bugs they fly away before the shutter has shut

  8. Sunflowers are really interesting close-up. An amazing range of colors from orange to red to brown. Sorry I haven't been visiting much but I've been incredibly busy. The tree damage hasn't helped.

  10. I grew sunflowers this year, but I never saw any bees on them. I suppose they visited, though, as they made seeds. I've never seen bees sleeping - and now I wonder where mine do sleep. Maybe I'm just too loud and wake them up!

  13. Love your photos. Am going to send you a photo of a color pencil drawing I did of a sunflower and bee for my sister. Love the detail of the seedhead.

  14. Why do you think they are sleeping? If they are they must be having sweet sweet dreams :-)

  15. Oh so the bees are sleeping? Good to hear, I always thought they were ill when I found some bees that weren't moving.

  16. Cute! I think bees go with any flower. With all the decline in bees I am always so happy to see them. This summer has been very happy as I seem to have many more bees than other years and I am loving it. Has anyone else noticed that? I have not seen anything about it in the papers or on the news. I am hoping others have noticed it.
