October Lily's

BY SKEETER
This morning I went outside to empty the rain gauge after a bit of rain fell on my GEORGIA GARDEN. I spotted a nice surprise in the garden. A Lily in bloom!
Yep, there it is, a Lily blooming in October when it should be blooming in early Summer.
Mums, I expect to be blooming in October but not OCTOBER LILY'S, In the Garden...

  1. Lucky you to have such a beauty show up. I think I have this one. Or at least one that is very similar. It has never bloomed this late.

    1. I have never seen a Lily in my garden this late. This one did bloom back in Summer as well. Strange year with lots of rain so maybe that had something to do with this surprise....

  2. What a nice surprise! I usually have one lily that re-blooms late in the year, but I haven't seen any sign of it this year.

  3. A wonderful surprise indeed! I noticed one of the daylilies I just planted on the farm is also blooming. Yours looks like the one blooming on the farm so I am wondering if it is the same kind? Quite a treat for sure. Deer don't eat your daylilies?

    1. This same plant bloomed back in Summer as normal Tina. And now a second blooming. Strange indeed.... The deer will get to the lily if I don't use the Liquid Fence! They got to a couple of the Tiger Lily's as I was late getting them sprayed. Once sprayed, they did not touch them again.... Right now the deer are in the woods more so then the gardens. They have acorns and lost of other stuff to nibble that is more enticing then my plants. We have not seen many deer lately, A lot of clearing has taken place around us and they must be moving on away as we did not even see a Fawn this year. First year we have not seen one since we moved into this house 11 years ago....

    1. All the reds are some sort of Mum. In the far right background is Angelonia Serena. They did not do well with too much rain this summer. But with little rain last month, they finally took off...

  6. The lilies are gorgeous.
I see you have my old blog listed in your great list of blogs around the world. Would it be possible to change it to the new url of http://www.craftygardener.ca as I see that from time to time a visitor comes from your site to mine. I'm using a Wordpress site that is a back door to my site as there is no way I can leave a comment using my actual site url. Thanks for you help. You can delete this comment after you read it if you like.
