Perennial Plant Society of Middle Tennessee

I have been negligent in posting about this meeting and am a bit late, but here goes. The Perennial Plant Society of Middle Tennessee (PPS) is meeting tonight at 7 pm for the meeting in the Botanic Hall at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens. The speaker is Keith Davitt. Keith is an award winning Landscape Designer and Author and the title of his program is "Garden Designs for Outdoor Living-Making the Most of Small & Large Spaces".

See ya there! The above sedum is Autumn Joy. Doesn't look like it does it? This is what happens to good plants in the wrong spot. This Autumn Joy is in shade, but still it blooms, albeit a bit differently than the sun version. I like it anyhow.

in the garden....at Cheekwood.

  1. Good plants in the wrong spot. Hmm. I sense a connection to your sedum. It's a little pale but none the worse for its environment. If I was in middle TN tonight, I would be there for your meeting. Have a great time and tell us all about it!

  2. Wow--I kind of like that sedum in white--maybe I'll try it in part shade and see what happens. I'm sorry I can't come to your meeting--part kidding, part serious--I like being a student (kind of the reason I picked the career I did).

  3. Okay, when I first saw the photo, i though ....Joe pye weed. My Autumn Joy is alittle redder than yours.
I'm thinking either way....it dries really well.

  4. Beautiful plant. I've wanted one forever. I will have to see about getting one. The flowers look so delicate. Is there more than one color?
Have fun at your meeting Tina. Hope you enjoy it. If I were in Tn. I would be there too. I love to listen to people talk about gardens whether it be flower, veggie or any kind. Like the time we went to listen to Paul James--Now that's a great talker.

  5. Sounds like an interesting meeting! Be sure to tell us a little about it. The bloom color looks a little paler on your sedum but other than that it sure looks healthy!

  6. Thanks all! I wish everyone could've gone too. My friend Debbie and I went and Debbie won a great door prize! A lespedeza 'Gibraltar'. I had just been telling her I saw it on many blogs. How funny. She was quite happy. The speaker was from New York and a very good speaker. We saw many before/after pictures. Pretty cool. Next month will be Troy Marden, a local guy. Should be fun as he will be talking of new and edgy plants.

  9. Sorry for the two post thing and the invite all! I always have PPS on my calendar but forgot to invite everyone this month until late. Geez, one posting a day is enough and I should do better next month!
