Butterfly Bush blooming in my Georgia Garden...
I am saddened today. I found out that one of our own has passed away. Darla was so kind to get the word spreading through Blogland. Linda, better known as Raingardener has left her beautiful gardens. I truly believe God needed a gardener by his side when he took Linda from us. Linda posted in March of her 2 year Blogiversary. Click HERE to see that posting.
Blogging has brought so many of us together in many ways. I have met some of you in person and many I will never meet but feel as though I know you any way. Today, I feel as though I have lost a friend, sigh.
It is a SAD DAY, In the Garden....

What a lovely tribute to a wonderful gardening friend.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I didn't know Linda, I was aware of her passing and extend my sympathy to all her family and friends. It's so sad to lose a blogging friend; she will be missed, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear of the passing of Linda, I very often visited and commented on her blog. She will be missed by many.
ReplyDeleteI was so very sad to hear of her passing and I will surely miss her. She was such a sweetheart and I loved talking with her. She actually sent me some plants for my garden and I do treasure them and think of her. It was just so sudden, at least in my mind. I've often wondered how I would handle the death of a blogging friend. I cried. It is just like a friend dying. Funny how in blogging we surely feel as though we know one another and do make relationships.
ReplyDeleteLinda is the second to go from my internet friends. So sad and I will miss her, sigh...
ReplyDeleteI've been feeling very sad about losing her, too. She often commented on my blog and I hadn't been over to visit her blog in months. I have been feeling badly that I hadn't taken the time to stop by and visit her for so long. I haven't been doing a whole lot of regular blog visiting for a very long while so it wasn't just Linda that I hadn't visited...but I wish I'd known earlier that she'd been ill. I read a few of her previous posts where she was talking of her lung disease, not being able to quit smoking, feeling guilty and feeling 'judged' by others for that, etc., and I wish I'd read that when she was alive because I would have told her I did not judge her--or anyone--because they cannot quit smoking. It is a horrible addiction and she was a sweet person. She loved her garden and the birds and was a friendly, kind and giving person.
ReplyDeleteIt sure was sad news. I never realized how good of friends you could make through blogging until I started blogging myself. It shows how real friendships can be even if you don't meet someone in person (only only once like I did with Linda).
ReplyDeleteSo sad to lose a friend and it shows how short life can be...I have been so blessed to meet so many new friends through blogging...
ReplyDeleteHi Skeeter, cyber friendship is new and different but we do care about each other and know each other even if we don't meet in person. I only visited Raingardener a couple of times but feel sad too. I have wandered sometimes why bloggers drop off the radar - we may not know if a blogger has died unless we are told. CM
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear of her passing. I too was a follower of her blog. It's so sad when a person judges another. Smoking is truly an addiction, I know from experience, it is a terrible habit to kick. May she RIP, I will miss her posts.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad when anyone passes but in my very humble opinon, I think most all gardeners have a special love for the world and people in it so that adds to the sadness. I look at it as God needed another special gardener so they can have everything perfect for when this wanna be gardener gets there!
ReplyDeleteIt was very nice of Darla to let people know.
Sorry to hear of her passing. Sad!
ReplyDeleteA sad day for us in cyberspace to loose one of our own. I'm sure the gardens in heaven look brighter due to her presence.
ReplyDeleteI have been in the garden watering today with Linda and her family on my mind. I hope her family can find comfort knowing so many of us enjoyed Raingardener's blog...
ReplyDeleteI have been mourning her loss too Tina. So unexpected ~ at least to my knowledge.
ReplyDeleteAbout your gardens tho, they are looking fantastic. I love tango-4-u! I've never heard of that lily (or seen it at Lowes or anywhere else) but the color and speckling are wonderful. Your hydrangeas also look fabulous. I'm so envious of that large oakleaf in the background. Mine struggles every year just to survive ~ maybe I need to move it to another location?
