Seeds of Change

I was watching one of those morning shows recently when the anchor mentioned Seeds of Change. It seems Seeds of Change was giving away 100 million seeds for a charge of-are you ready? A mere $4.99! That got my attention so I logged on and checked out the give a way. It seems I got in right at the right time because when I checked to see if they were still giving away these heirloom seeds I found that they are not. They have given away 100 million seeds already so they have stopped the program. My credit card was charged for $4.99 but then the charge was removed. I thought huh? Well all of a sudden this huge envelope arrived in the mail with all of these wonderful seeds! I plan to give most of the seeds away to garden friends but thought I'd share them with you. I am sorry I'm a bit too late for the seed give a way to benefit you all but perhaps the organization will do the same thing next year?

I normally don't post about things until I've had a chance to check out the product and business personally; hence the lateness of this post because the seeds just arrived. They are all packaged in environmentally friendly packages and there is a nice variety. These seeds are certified organic. What a treat. Check the company out and see if this they are something you might have an interest in....

in the garden....

Tomorrow is my oldest son's birthday. While he does not normally check out this blog or spend time on the computer, I wish to wish him a very Happy Birthday!

  1. Wow, what a haul Tina and they took off the charge? Wow, that is my kind of shopping! Have fun sharing your seeds and happy birthday to your son....

  2. Sorry I missed this. Maybe next year?

And I was elated to see you follow my dear friend, Troutbirder.

What a small blogging world it is. :)

  3. Definitely need to check out this company! What a nice way to encourage gardening -- and repeat customers!

  4. Wow, how lucky! We have a local seed exchange for local gardeners. I missed it this year but I've already marked the calendar for next year.

  5. That's such a nice thing to do to encourage gardening--and repeat customers! I'll have to check them out.

  6. I sure will check them out and make a note to check them each day next year.

Yup, I just mailed his and Stevie's cards out yesterday. 2 grandson's on the same day, 2 granddaughter's on the same day, 1 granddaughter on my birthday so how cool is that?

  7. Skeeter, The charge has not showed up soon but it is fine if it does. I don't know what happened with it. Want some seeds the next time you come up?

Nancy, Blogging is so fun and yes, I think we are all interconnected in small ways that sometimes aren't even evident. I don't follow any blogs except on FB or on my blogroll. I do change out the blogroll frequently and don't always use it but it is a tool. The big list of blogs is on another page.

Darla, I was pretty excited. Just sorry I didn't let you all know ahead of time before it was too late.

Jen, 100 million seeds is definitely a great way to encourage gardening. They also gave away seeds to organizations like schools. You got more packets for a bit more money. Check them for next year and I'll let you all know if I hear of it.

Alexis, A local seed exchange would be so fun! I hope you catch it next year.

Mom, Who would've thought so many same birthdays in one family? A nice thing for sure. I hope they all have a great time. I don't usually keep up with other's birthdays except the kids and immediate family members. Now I must start with grandchildren soon-like you!

  8. I looked into this company a few weeks ago and the program was "closed". I don't know if it's just closed for the season or what, but that's good that you got in on it. Your son doesn't spend time on a computer? You are blessed! :-)

  9. I love the company and their seeds...didn't know about the program since I must of ordered my seeds so long ago before the giveaway...

  10. I'll have to check them out, thanks for the link. Happy Birthday to your son! :)

  11. Great packets of seeds! WOW!

I've not ordered from them, but since I am a seed-sowing gardener, I will check them out.

A Happy Birthday to your son!

  12. Hi all.
    Happy Birthday to your son.
I didn't know about this company. Will check it out next yr.
Tina, have you ever seen or collected seed from Day Lilies? I managed to get a very few & was wondering if they would come up. May try it anyway to see what happens.

  13. Lola, Seeds from daylilies will indeed come up! In fact, you can create your own daylily by cross pollinating some of your favorite daylilies. I have a friend who does this and she is anxiously awaiting the seedlings to bloom so she can see what she has. It does take a while for the seedlings to bloom but can be done!

  14. What a great way to encourage gardening! I'm glad you were able to get in on this great deal, Tina.

    Happy Birthday to the Jimster!
