June Beauties

 Early June is the time for Lily in my GEORGIA GARDENS!

 I started to add Lily to my gardens several years ago.

 Some were gifts from friends.

 Some were picked up from the bargain bins in Garden Centers.

 Some of those bargain finds had NO Tags, so a surprise to see them bloom.

 Some were picked up at bargain prices from local Nurseries.

 I have divided many the past few years making more beautiful plants to enjoy.

 Instead of putting them all together in one spot, I am scattering them about in my gardens.

 With plentiful rains this spring, they are blooming as never before.

 I love all the lily and cannot seem to pick a favorite.

 I wish each were labeled for identification but they are not.

 I love color in the garden and lily has been giving me lots of color the past few weeks.

 I only wish their blooms would last longer then they do.

Their colors cheer me up when I am feeling down.

 This one is the most prolific bloomer of them all and luckily, I have many of these scattered about. 

 I plan to add more lily as I find them on sale.

 They are the most easy bloomer to care for as I really do nothing more then remove the old foliage as it dies out.

 I have yet to lose a lily in my gardens.

 This one was nibbled by a bug but that will happen occasionally. The deer will eat the blooms if I slack on the stinky spray of Liquid Fence. But this year, I have been on the ball with the spraying, thus, enjoying lots of blooms.

Purple and White, not be confused with the Purple and Cream with the first lily in this grouping.

The color combinations are endless with Lily it seems.

Soon the Tiger Lily's will be blooming. Then, Day Lily will be gone but until then, I shall continue to enjoy my JUNE BEAUTIES, in the Garden...

Great Summer

  How is everyone enjoying Summer? One more month remains for us then Summer begins to wind down. I am seeing Halloween and even Christmas Decorations in the stores now! Wow, where has the year gone? 

Oh, I now have Peacocks in my GEORGIA GARDEN...

 Ha, not wanting the mess of real fowl, I settled for these two bargain birds found at an "Antique Store" while I was in Tennessee this past spring. I put them on the fencing which hides the Propane Gas tank for our home heating. Click HERE to see the Fencing's start. I removed the Trumpet Vines as they were trailing beyond the fence. I tried my best to keep them at bay but they were determined to take over the entire Semi-Formal Garden if not removed. I removed the vine back in Spring and am still finding it popping up throughout the garden today. Grrrrrrr....



This garden has really enjoyed the rain this summer. This colorful garden is located by the Arbor Swing. Click HERE to see the Arbor Swing being built. I love red, yellow and purple's together. 

Miss Huff Lantana had a late start this year but is now putting on a show for me.

 Zooming in to one of the hundreds of blooms you can see why the butterflies, bees and humming birds flock to this bush.

 The Rock Garden by the Patio is still a favorite of mine. I am loosing some things in this garden as it was once a shade garden. With fewer trees in the area now, more sun is hitting shade happy plants. The ivy has really taken a hit but Periwinkle/Vinca is a great filler to bare spots. 

 The Formosa Lily was becoming so large in the Beach Planter, that I divided it and put a couple in the Rock Garden. Here you see one happy Formosa Lily. Click HERE to see the Beach Planter.

 Here is the view one sees of the Rock Garden as they sit at the Patio Table.  

 The Chimney Planter on the East side of the house has been a great spot for the Elephant Ear. This is the Ear I would over winter inside each year. Not wanting to close off a room to our indoor only cats any longer, I left this Ear on the front porch in its pot over winter. I was not sure if it would survive or not but come spring, I put the bulb roots into the ground. And now the results! I shall heavy mulch this area and let her be this winter and hope for the best...

The plentiful rain has the grass looking so beautiful this summer! It is so lush, green and soft to the feet. Keeping up with mowing has not been too difficult as we have had cooler temps then normal. I am mostly push mowing and bagging this year. Thus far, we have had a GREAT SUMMER, In the Garden...

October Lily's

 This morning I went outside to empty the rain gauge after a bit of rain fell on my GEORGIA GARDEN. I spotted a nice surprise in the garden. A Lily in bloom!

 Yep, there it is, a Lily blooming in October when it should be blooming in early Summer.

Mums, I expect to be blooming in October but not OCTOBER LILY'S, In the Garden...

Easter Lily revisited

I like to experiment here in my Georgia Gardens. One such trial was started over a year ago. I found Easter Lily's on sale and decided to stick them into the ground and see what would happen. Click HERE to see how the Lily's became.

I am happy to say I had success with all the Lily's!

I did nothing more then stick them into the ground and walk away!

Of course they did not pop up by Easter but they did arrive in mid May.

I was tickled to see the lily had survived their first year.

I hope to see them again next year. I just love my EASTER LILY, In the Garden...
