Easter Bucket

By Skeeter
These little bunny's enjoy playing dress up in my Georgia Woods!
Of course they have on their Easter Clothes and have baskets ready to gather eggs on Sunday. Or, are they the ones hiding the eggs for Sunday? Hum...
The mailbox happily greets one and all as they enter our gardens. If only I could solve the mystery of the perfect plants for this mostly shaded planter. Don't suggest Hosta, we have deer and they love hosta. Oh boy, do they love hosta...
I was able to salvage last years silk arrangement by adding new egg picks and a few daffys. If only they were real and not fake silk. Then I would know I had hit the big time as I could afford to have fresh flowers outside for everyone to enjoy daily! Ha, dream on...
Hum, not your ordinary Easter Basket here...
It was to this gardener while walking through the woods.
See what my basket, (okay Bucket) was collecting. Not eggs but beautiful rocks and lots of rocks! All for free!!! Free is my friend. I tell ya, I felt like a kid finding Easter eggs when I spotted a rock for my Bucket. The Saint was shaking his head as he does not know a good thing when he sees it. Ha, I will add these beauties to my ever growing Rock Garden.
This little bunny hopes you find lots of goodies in your Basket or EASTER BUCKET, this Sunday, In the Garden...

HAPPY EASTER TO EVERYONE IN BLOG-LAND...

  1. Skeeter, a beautiful arrangement! You do that very well.
I say what ever works for a easter basket/bucket, hubby's are experts at the befuddled look aren't they.

  5. Those bunnies are adorable. I know that mailman loves the mailbox too. Too cute on the rocks. That last garden looks like a perfect spot to hide some eggs in and to welcome the Easter bunny. And a Happy Easter to you too!

  6. Happy Easter to you as well. Spring is certainl in the air. I am enjoying the sun and warmer temps. Your phlox and daffodils sure look great.
For your shade you can plant ferns, deer aren't as partical to them as they are to hostas.

  8. Good Morning all and another beautiful day here in GA! I have so much to do today as the Saint and I have decided to take off for the weekend. More Cherry Blossoms for our viewing pleasures....

Dawn, Thanks, I have fun with them. The Saint has a look no other hubby could master. Hee hee…

Gardener on Sherlock, I like to play with the bunnys as they are by the street for all the neighborhood children to see when on that big ole yellow bus coming home. I hope it puts a smile on their little faces…

Joy, What Gardener does not like a good free found rock!

Darla, You know my bunnies don’t miss many events. They are Party Animals for sure :-)

Tina, Thanks, yes wouldn’t that Chimney Garden be a perfect egg hiding spot. If only I had little ones running around to find them. Oh well, we shall be off to see more Cherry Blossoms this weekend so that will make up for the lack of egg hunts…

Janet, I like the idea of ferns but I am also after a bit of color as well. Maybe a grouping of different type ferns with texture would be nice. Hum, keeping them happily watered in the hot summer months may be an issue though and they would get some hot early evening sun. I will put more thought into that planter…

  12. I am a rock lover myself. Although I got yelled at once for picking up rocks. Some gritchy lady just couldn't keep her opinions to herself. I just ignored her. I love these decorations! Cute!
    Happy Easter to you!

  13. Try heuchera for that planter! Deer and bunnies leave ours alone.

  14. Love picking up rocks, too. It cracks me up when people freak out over rock picking. As if rocks were in any danger of being extinct any time soon. Happy spring, happy Easter weekend to you.

  21. Very nice of you to make walking thru the garden so much easier for the Easter Bunny by picking up all the rocks and putting them in one place. I can totally see why he likes visiting you so much - with so many friends to greet him, too.
    Happy Easter, you guys!

  22. Happy Easter Skeeter. Do enjoy the weekend. I have a suspicion where you will be headed.
Your woodland bunnies are ever so pretty. Just sitting there waiting to do what they do best. Your mailbox planter will be a great directive.
Worked in the garden again today to enjoy all this sunshine. So much to do & so little time to do it.

  24. Love the arrangement over the mailbox, Skeeter. I came over to the blog expecting for your usual bunny decos but was saddened (No offense, Tina. I said saddened for not finding Skeeter's bunny pics) when I didn't see your post but scrolling down, I spotted this post and as usual, I was enjoying myself reading your post as usual. Happy Easter!
