Weed

BY SKEETER
Butterfly Weed blooming in my Georgia Garden.
I did not dig a hole for this plant as it is a volunteer!
The buds are as pretty as the blooms.
Normally I do not like weeds but I like this WEED, In the Garden...

  2. Thanks Tina and yes, volunteers are the best. I was late getting the post up. So much going on that I forgot until this morning. LOL...

    Have a great day lady...

  6. I always wonder why this gorgeous plant gets designated as a weed. Yours is bigger than mine...the monarch caterpillars ate mine down so now I just have stalks sticking up out of the ground.

  9. Well, I recently had a volunteer. When I finally found out what it WAS, I couldn't get rid of it fast enough!

Wish THIS one of yours would volunteer up here for ME:)

  13. Tried to comment yesterday BUT blogger was giving me problems.

    Love the Butterfly Weed.
Maybe I should try again from seed.
    Mine wasn't in enough sun.

  14. I'd love it if butterfly weed would volunteer here Skeeter! I've tried planting it several times, but they don't seem to like it here. Purple milkweed seems to be doing ok thankfully. It's made it for three years, and I'm hoping this year it will finally bloom.

  15. I love Butterfly Weed. I have it at the mailbox and a few scattered places through the garden. The only successful way I've been able to propagate it is by scattering fresh seed.

  16. Hello everyone! I hope you are having a great weekend! Blogger was out during this post so may have lost some of your comments. Sorry for that but out of my hands...

We are hard at the house renovations this weekend and I am finally seeing some progress! One day closer to completion which is still a long way from now. Sigh... I do see light at the end of the tunnel though....

A bit of rain fell on my GA gardens and left us with cooler temps. The humidity is gone and I love the open windows. It helps keep the plywood scent out of the house....

    Enjoy your Sunday!
