The Saint and I finally got the Flag Pole erected in our Georgia Garden! It was delayed due to a little mishap back in Nov. Click Here to read that fun tale. Thank you so much Mom and Dad B for giving us that beautiful Flag and Pole! I plan to one day add a little planter around the base of the pole. 
Here is a July Surprise in our mailbox planter! I did not plant one of those flowers in the planter! I added fresh dirt from my compost bin last fall and look, free flowers! I have been wondering what to plant in this planter as everything I have tried fails on me. I hope these Susan's will reseed themselves and be there for me each summer.

ReplyDeleteLooks like you've found the perfect flower for your mailbox planter, Skeeter! Based on the way my Susans reseeded themselves this spring, I think you may have a blooming planter for many years to come. Hope you had a great Fourth!

ReplyDeleteSkeeter, wow I love the mailbox plantings! The Susans should spread well there. The flowers die, but the rossetes stay green all winter here in Texas. I leave the seed heads on for the birds, then cut them back in late February. Love all your red, white and blue in the garden!

ReplyDeleteAs healthy and happy as the susans look. I am bettin you will have then for a long time. Mother nature figured it was the best plant for there, can't go wrong with that choice.
They are not just any Susans either, they look the annual type of gloriosa daisy and just simply shine. Also, btw, they won't grow here so it's nice you can grow them there! (I have no luck with the annual ones). Great you got the flag up and hope your weekend was great and everyone else's too! And safe!
