What in the World Are They?

Here is a picture of the round stones I recently got from a fellow freecycler. I think they might make a good wall for a raised bed in the center of my vegetable garden in order to contain my banana tree. I will probably use them like castle rock and stack them on top of each other offset. I like the ridged edges. Does anyone know what these might have been used for and where they came from originally? My husband was kind enough to download them from his overloaded truck onto his trailer. He said he knew he wouldn't kill anything in the trailer by placing them there and not on the ground!

  1. I have no idea what these were used for but they sure will add texture to the garden! I think a planter would be great!

  2. Thanks! I wanted to tell you about your pictures that I thought the way you had the boathouse landscaped was quite attractive. It looked like elephant ears between the posts? Do they grow well there? I really liked the way they edged the garden.

  3. The elephant ears are growing like weeds! The package said they were miniature ears but they don’t look like it to me! They are about 6 feet tall if not larger! I wanted something to attract the eye from the boat shed and they work great and with little care! I also planted 3 dogwood trees that our neighbor gave us, in the area. She got them free for making a donation on Arbor Day or something, then never had the chance to plant them on their newly purchased land. So she asked if I wanted any. She gave me 10 total but only 6 survived and those three by the shed are doing great about 5 feet or taller, while the other three are about 2 feet tall. Strange...
